Hi guys, new to Gimko but just getting the ball rolling on how I got into cards -

Probably one of the best stories I've ever heard about cards is the one about evasion maps. During WWII when Americans were held captive in German camps, the US Playing Card Company designed special cards with the government. Once they were wetted they peeled apart, and inside the prisoners would find parts of maps which would lead to escape routes and their freedom!

As a young child the whole idea about spys/concealments/detective work really got to me and I've been a big fan of cards since

What's your story? Care to share  :D

Its interesting to see that there is a market for playing cards. Funny, not knowing too much about playing cards, I put up an ad on Gumtree selling about 10 unused packs of playing cards. Next thing I knew was that I was receiving phone calls from all over the country.

Anyway, welcome to the site, hope you can share some of your collections with us. :D
