Panini America officials are conducting the company’s annual distributor meeting this week, which just so happens to coincide perfectly with 2014-15 Gold Standard Basketball packing out. So instead of the normal Quality Control process, Panini America’s Basketball Product Development Team is getting a little QC cooperation from the top sports card distributors in North America while they’re in town.

Later this afternoon, the first two Quality Control cases of 2014-15 Gold Standard Basketball will be delivered to the distributor meeting location for what promises to be a scintillating pack-busting preview. Luckily, we happen to know a few people and were able to get an early look at one of the cases.

In the gallery that follows, we bring you a rare card-by-card examination of one case. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance tomorrow when we’ll give the second case the card-by-card treatment.

As you’ll see below, most 10-card packs of 2014-15 Gold Standard Basketball will deliver four autographs, one memorabilia card and one micro-etched parallel; some packs, however, deliver five autographs. Also permeating the product this year are several compelling parallels and subtle design enhancements that offer a rich, new take on the Gold Standard brand.

Check it all out below and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2014-15 Gold Standard Basketball.
