With thanks to ESP we can announce the V8 Supercar Commemorative Trading Card Collection will be released on the 15^th of October 2013. This will coincide with the 2013 Bathurst 1000 race.

The set will feature two signature cards. One signed by Mark Skaife OAM. Skaife is a five time winner of the V8 Supercar Championship Series, including its predecessor the Australian Touring Car Championship. The second signature card is yet to be confirmed.

Graded cards have become a huge part of the trading card hobby over the last decade. However for Australian collectors it is a relatively new concept. As we all know, the condition of a trading card is extremely important but when you are buying a raw card from a marketplace (such as Gimko) you are relying on the seller’s subjective opinion on its condition.

This is where grading comes in. It helps eliminate the subjectivity by having a professional and impartial person assign a value to the physical condition of a card. After much anticipation ESP have released the checklist for 2013 NRL Elite. While we will have a full product review up soon here are some initial thoughts that come to mind after seeing the checklist.

Base cards – I really enjoy the clean design. I also like that some of the lesser profile players have got cards in this series. While people might complain about that its great to get a mix of different players from the retail release to the hobby release.

Triple Threats – Look like a really nice innovation and should prove popular for the team collector. There has obviously been time put into the players featured on the cards and it is a really clean slick design.

League Sensation Signatures – One word – stacked. I have not seen a checklist of signature cards of the caliber of players in this set since the 2004 Captain Signature set. Watch these sell like hot cakes.

We have received the details of the 2013 Select Prime release.

The set is made up of 36 packets and 9 cards per packet and is restricted to 7,200 boxes.

We’re pleased to announce a big update to our item search functionality. The item search system has been given a major overhaul and you now can use advanced search operators to run more powerful searches.

You can make it so certain words don’t show up in the results, use exact matching patterns, group words together to get at least one of the grouped words, use wildcard characters and of course you will still be able to run a standard search like you have been used to doing.
