For many basketball collectors, last year’s premiere edition of 2012-13 Signatures Basketball was the sleeper product of the year. It landed on the market rather quietly, partially obscured by the building buzz surrounding big-budget Panini America blockbusters such as 2012-13 Flawless Basketball and 2012-13 Immaculate Basketball. But once collectors got around to cracking Signatures, they discovered a delightfully different release that featured a vast array of low-numbered chases, a powerfully clean design and the instant-classic Film Slide Autographs.

When 2013-14 Signatures Basketball arrives in hobby shops tomorrow, collectors will discover that Panini America officials have stayed true to Signatures’ stunning roots to create a highly anticipated encore that lives up to heightened expectations.

Each box of 2013-14 Signatures Basketball delivers two packs: One featuring an autograph and a Film Slide card numbered to 35 or less; the other featuring an autograph and a Chase Card numbered to 25 or less. In addition, one of the two packs in each box will also include a Draft Pick X-Change card good for an XRC Film Card of one of the first 25 picks in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Last week, Panini America’s NBA Product Development team spent some quality time quality controlling 2013-14 Signatures Basketball in advance of packout. The following gallery details just some of the fruits of that process.

Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of 2013-14 Signatures Basketball.
