posted one of these and I just made this comment in another fanpost, but I thought that this was worthy of its own fanpost. I see so many people referencing our cap space for next season as if it is some novel concept https://www.buffalof...Cozens_Flag-148. So, let's clear the air regarding the cap space that we have this offseason https://www.buffalof...iula_Hoodie-243. 2019-2020Here's the moves that Botterill made with the cap space that he had last year:Skinner $9mm MoJo $4 Derek Roy Pillow Cover.5mm Vesey $2.275mm Rodrigues $2mm Girgensons $1.6mm Larsson $1.55mm Lazar $0.7mmMiller $3.875mmMcCabe $2.85mm Ullmark $1.325mm - $29.675mm 10 players 2.97mm per player 2020-2021Let's say the cap goes to $83.5mm next year. The Sabres would have roughly $36.5mm in cap space and they only have 10 players under contract that are playing right now.Eichel $10mmSkinner $9mmOkposo $6mmMoJo $4.5mmRisto $5.4mmMiller $3.875mmMcCabe $2.85mmDahlin $0.925mmJoker $0.925mmHutton $2.75mmHodgson $.791mm--------Total: $47mmDoing real simple math, that says we have roughly $2.8mm per player to spend to fill out the roster.Less than the 2.97mm per player spent last year. Notable Free Agents Now, some might say that Skinner took up a lot of that cap space and he sure did https://www.buffalof...kkonen_Flag-229. This year we've got 4 big FA's:ReinhartOlofssonMontourUllmark Those 4 alone are going to take a big chunk out of that $36.5mm. Surely much more than Skinner did and we'll still need another 9 players to sign. We have more total dollars to spend this offseason, but not more per player and our cap situation isn't as rosy as many people here seem to think Dustin Tokarski Face Mask. It's certainly not better than last year. Botterill's History I was going to end the fanpost up there, but I think it is important to consider other ways that Botterill has spent money:Eichel $10mmPominville $5.6mmFrolik $4.3mmBerglund $3.85mmReinhart $3.65mmSobotka $3.5mmSheary $3mmPouliot $1.15mmWilson $1.05mmJosefson $0.7mmNolan $0.950mmScandella $4mmMontour $3.39mmBeaulieu $2.4mmHunwick $2.25mmLehner $4mm I'm missing a few relatively inconsequential guys, but other than Eichel, Reinhart and Montour, the guy that the Pegulas and fans are hoping to make good use of $36.5mm sure doesn't have a very good track record. Total the 16 guys up and you get $53mm. Subtract Eichel, Reinhart and Montour and that my friends is how Botterill spends $36mm on 13 players Dustin Tokarski Hoodie.
