Dragons will not increase their offer to Merrin, Wayne Beavis who is Merrin's new manager has tried to increase his value from the start of negotitions, saying that he will be in huge demand etc, has not worked out that way, i know Manly, Roosters, Warriors & Panthers have shown interest but his asking price of $800,000 a season is way overs and no club has come near that, both Warriors and Panthers have offered more than the Dragons, Dragons offer was $550,000 but was reported as $600,000 in the paper, i was told it was closer to $550, then $600, as of last week i was confident he would stay, this week not so...

Can't imagine him going to NZ unless its for a holiday or to play a test match.

 

I did hear there was a seperate 3rd party deal which took it from $550k to $600.

 

I also agree a month or so ago I would have said no way will he leave but now I wouldn't bet on it, I reckon its 50/50.

The real JT has asked coach Green for a rest mid season...........soft.

 

The fake JT would need to increase his work rate IMO for him to be paid the " big  money". There were 26 Rnds lasyt year and he stood up for a couple towards the end, He is another T-Rex IMO.

Keep an eye on Foran, he is the key domino in the whole thing.

For us to get JT we will have do it before Foran signs his deal (unless it's with Roosters) as we won't compete with their offer

Been reading in the superleague paper today that kurt gidley might me coming to the rhinos like danny buderus did.
Jamie Peacock retires this year so we would have the room. I dont think Paul Aiton would be happy though if he did.

NRL must be spewing first they hired Greenburg and he was involved in the Barba cover up, then they hire Richardson and this crap emerges about Sutton/Burgess not to mention the debacle with Kirisome Auva'a

Dragons Sign Justin Hunt

The St George Illawarra Dragons have announced that Justin Hunt has agreed to terms on a one-year contract that will see him join the Club until at least the end of this season.

Hunt, 26, can play as either fullback or on the wing and was most recently contracted to the Parramatta Eels prior to being granted a release.
The Tugun Seahawks junior made his debut for the South Sydney Rabbitohs against the Dragons during the 2012 campaign and spent two seasons there prior to joining the Eels last season.
Hunt has played 14 first-grade games to date and will join the Dragons for pre-season training immediately.
